Project activities must be implemented within 2 years from the date of the decision to approve the application. The monitoring period lasts 3 years for SMEs and 5 years for large enterprises, starting from the payment of the final installment of the support.
Objective of the support
Micro and small enterprises can also use the support for investments necessary to start processing or to increase processing capacity. The budget for this application round is 30 million euros, of which 10 million euros is for micro and small enterprises and 20 million euros for medium and large enterprises. The support is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Estonian state budget.
Grant applications can be submitted starting from August 27, 2025. The acceptance of applications is open until October 15, 2025.
Applications can be submitted via e-PRIA. The e-PRIA guide can be found on the portal next to each respective service and on the PRIA website.
If you are applying for support through PRIA for the first time, you must first register as a PRIA client. Information on registering as a client and changing client data can be found here. Please submit the application for entry into the register before submitting the grant application.
Support is provided for the construction of buildings and the purchase of equipment that contribute to:
- reducing the negative environmental impact of the food industry,
- technological renewal,
- increasing the security of supply of necessary inputs, or
- increasing market orientation.
Investment in the future
Support is granted to:
- micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises,
- whose main area of activity at the time of application and during the financial year immediately preceding the application is food production (EMTAK Section C, Subsection 10), excluding the processing and preservation of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks (EMTAK Section C, Subsection 102),
or beverage production (EMTAK Section C, Subsection 11); or to micro or small enterprises whose main activity is not food production but who have been engaged in the production of products listed in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (excluding fishery and aquaculture products) for at least two financial years immediately preceding the application, and whose sales revenue from self-produced agricultural products or products resulting from their processing, together or separately, exceeded 14,000 euros in both financial years.
Supported activities:
- construction of a building or purchase of equipment necessary to achieve environmental and climate policy goals;
- construction of a building or purchase of equipment necessary to ensure the security of supply of inputs;
- construction of a building or purchase of equipment necessary for processing in the event that a new food processing enterprise is established;
- construction of a building or purchase of equipment necessary to obtain or renew a quality certificate or label;
- construction of a building or purchase of equipment necessary to start processing or to increase processing capacity*;
- purchase of equipment necessary for digitalization or the adoption of new technology;
- purchase of equipment necessary for automation;
