From 2027, all public buildings will be required to generate part of their electricity from solar panels. This change means that companies should seriously consider installing solar panels now, in order to ensure that energy production is compliant with the new regulations in a few years’ time.
In June 2023, a support measure came into force to help businesses most affected by high energy prices and to ensure security of electricity supply. The support can be used to prevent supply disruptions caused by the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, supporting the transition to new energy sources and investments in security of supply.
Support may be applied for by a company registered in Estonia, which has an economic activity from at least 1 January 2021. The average of the two preceding financial years must be at least EUR 100 000 according to the commercial register.

1. Purchase of storage equipment for security of energy supply

3. Construction of building and facilities for connection to an efficient district heating network and purchase of equipment with connection fee
4. Activities for which the grant cannot be used
NB: The investment object must be located in Estonia.
The amount of the grant per applicant is up to EUR 200 000 per micro-enterprise.500 000 for medium-sized and large enterprises . The minimum grant per project is €5,000 .
The maximum contribution is:
40% of eligible costs for small businesses;
30% of eligible costs in the case of medium-sized enterprises;
20% of eligible costs for large enterprises.
If the interconnection point for which the undertaking is applying for support is located outside Tallinn and Harju County, the maximum rate of support shall be ten percent higher.
The budget of the call is €20 million.
